Birthday song for Zach

I got this video last week at Zach's school. I went there and took treats to his class for his B-day party in class. Here's Mrs. Skidmore and her first grade class singing to Zach. He seemed to have a pretty good B-day. He's a good kid. Love you bub!

It has been forever since I have put anything on the blog. I apologize, I have been so swamped. It's back with a bang today, though. I am at the CMA Awards again this year and the girls all love Taylor Swift. She was here today and left this video message for the girls. Enjoy.

Unexpected guest at the cabin

My dad e-mailed this picture to me. My cousin, Kevin took this picture at the family cabin on Lookout Mountain above Glenwood Springs, Colorado. It's a bear cub looking for some food. I am glad that momma bear wasn't around, too. That can tend to get nasty. I like the pictures, though. I remember that outhouse in the background all too well! LOL!

Happy B-Day Tiana

Tiana is in double digits! She turned 10 on Saturday. She had her B-Day party last weekend, since she is at her dad's this weekend. She got some cool gifts and likes the fact that she now has two digits with her age. That will change a few years down the road! LOL! Happy b-Day kiddo! We love ya!

Do you like Gladiator movies?

Italian archaeologists have discovered the tomb of the anchient Roman hero believed to have inspired Russell Crowe's character in the hit movie "Gladiator," Rome's officials announced on Thursday at a press conference.
Marble beams and columns, carvings and friezes first emerged from the Roman soil during construction work to build a residential complex in Saxa Rubra, not far from the headquarters of Rai, Italy's state-run television station.
According to Cristiano Ranieri, an archaeologist who led the excavation at the site, the huge fragments belonged to a monumental marble tomb built on the banks of the Tiber River at the end of the second century A.D.
"This is the most important ancient Roman monument to come to light for 20 or 30 years," Daniela Rossi, an archaeologist for the city of Rome, told reporters.

I miss you.

Ten years ago today I lost someone very important to me. My grandpa, Charles Gardner passed away on October 10, 1998. I was so fortunate to take a weeks vacation in September of that year. The last time I saw my grandpa was September 10, 1998. That was my 29th B-day. It was a very special day. I could tell that he wasn't going to be around much longer. He was skin and bones and was stuck in the bed at the care home he was in. I remember rubbing my whiskers on his face and telling him that paybacks are a booger. He laughed. You see, when I was a kid, he would throw me down and rub his whiskers on my face. It hurt, but he found it funny. He would also like to get me by "milking my mouse." That's when you squeeze the life out of a persons pinky.
He was a great man and was loved by all of his family and friends. I still think of him a lot. I still love to hear my grandma talk about how good looking she thought he was and how much she loved him. I wanted to take a minute and share with you how much Charles L. Gardner meant to me. I miss you, Grandpa. I love you.

I would like to wish my parents a Happy 40th Anniversary. They were married on October 5, 1968 in Colorado. Here's a photo of them from a couple years back in Colorado. 40 years is a long time. My hat goes off to mom and dad for making it last. I hope that you have a wonderful day. Love you!

At last! He will go to prison!

Thirteen years to the day after being acquitted of killing his wife and her friend in Los Angeles, O.J. Simpson was found guilty of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room.
The 61-year-old former football star was convicted of all 12 counts late Friday after jurors deliberated for more than 13 hours. He released a heavy sigh as the charges were read and was immediately taken into custody.
Simpson, who went from American sports idol to celebrity-in-exile after his murder acquittal, could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Happy Anniversary to Jeremy and Taunia

Happy Anniversary to Jeremy and Taunia. Today they are celebrating the big day. I talked to Jeremy on the phone yesterday and he said that they will be celebrating it this coming weekend. I am sure that they won't have any trouble finding things to do in the city. Happy Anniversary.

I had a wasted trip to Kansas City on Sunday

Kristi and I headed up to Kansas City on Sunday to see the Broncos and Chiefs game. I was hoping for a good game. It was good for Kansas City fans. They spanked the Broncos 33-19. We got fried in the stands as the Broncos were cooked on the field. They played like crap. They are now 3-1.

Headed to Kansas City today!

It's 6 a.m. and I am up and around for the day trip to Kansas City. My friend, Dan got free tickets to the Chiefs game against the Broncos today at Arrowhead Stadium. He has known me for years and called and asked if I wanted to go to the game. I said yes, of course. His radio station is in Kansas City and they had tickets to giveaway. He sent me an extra pair of tickets. I am taking Kristi up there. I am not sure if she is very excited to go, but she agreed to go. I will let you know how the trip goes. I hope it ends with a Broncos victory!

Legendary actor Paul Newman dies at age 83

Paul Newman, the Academy-Award winning superstar who personified cool as an activist, race car driver, popcorn impresario and the anti-hero of such films as "Hud," "Cool Hand Luke" and "The Color of Money," has died. He was 83.
Newman died Friday after a long battle with cancer at his farmhouse near Westport, publicist Jeff Sanderson said. He was surrounded by his family and close friends.
In May, Newman he had dropped plans to direct a fall production of "Of Mice and Men," citing unspecified health issues.
I was very upset to hear of this news today. I liked him a lot. He will be missed.

I am sorry that I haven't been able to update the blog lately. I have been so busy with work. I did make it a point to get on here and wish a Happy Birthday to my wonderful Grandma Gardner. I just spoke with her on the phone to wish her a Happy B-Day. She sounded great! She was eating lunch, so it was a quick call. I miss you, Grandma and love you very much. I hope to see you soon and pictures are on the way soon for you. Love ya! Have a great day!

Happy Birthday to Smitty

I would like to wish a Happy Birthday to Harold Smith, my uncle Smitty. He got an early present with a Denver Broncos win on Sunday. They refs gave all of us Broncos fans a gift. I usually talk to Smitty 3-4 times every Sunday. We call one another and give our comments on the Broncos games. He was in Vegas last week and I was on the way back from NYC this weekend, so we weren't able to talk shop. I am sure that we will this week. I hope that you have a great day, Smitty. We miss you guys.

Headed to NYC!

It's going to be a busy weekend, starting Thursday! I am getting ready to head to New York City. My dad and I are flying up there to see my brother. I will let you know how it goes.

Nice Birthday

I turned 39 today. It was a nice day. It started early, when my wife took me out to dinner last night. She surprised me and invited my parents. We had a nice dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Today at work a bunch of co-workers had a B-day lunch for me at Pizza Hut. They got me a cake and some funny gifts. I am wearing the hat that they gave me in the picture above. I like it. I think I might wear it on a regular basis. LOL! Thanks to everyone.

Happy Birthday, Madison!

I would like to wish a Happy 9th Birthday to my wonderful daughter, Madison. Man! They grow fast. It seems just like yesterday when a chunky little kid with big cheeks was in my arms. She is a great kid. We had her B-day party on Monday night at McDonald's. She wanted High School Musical Cupcakes for her party. She got a lot of Hannah Montana, High School Musical stuff and cash. Kristi got her tickets to "High School Musical on Ice" and is going to take her later this month. She is saving her B-day money to buy something at that. I hope that you have a great day and I love you much!

I missed the 5th!!! Sorry, I have been swamped!

I have been very busy the last few days. Also, we have had no Internet at the house. There were some technical issues with the modem and router. I missed a big date in the family. September 5th was my aunt and uncle's anniversary. So, Happy Belated Anniversary to Smitty and Marcia! I will talk to Smitty tonight, I am sure. The Broncos are playing and I always call him 3-5 times a game. I also missed my cousins B-day. Happy Belated B-day to Mike Collins. I hope that you had a wonderful day. Well, I better get back to work. Sorry for the late wishes. Have a nice day.
