Hitting News Stands Thursday

It must be a pretty dead time around the Wichita Eagle. They called me today and interviewed me about my new position at Journal Broadcast Group. It's going to be in the Business section of the Wichita Eagle on Thursday. It should also be on the website. That's www.kansas.com.
How's this for irony? My ex-wife (Kelly) starts working there on Monday. Just thought it was kinda weird. Well, have a nice day.

A Quick Hello.

Things have been very busy. We had all the kids over the weekend and I had no hockey games, no dances and no station events. It was great! We turned off the phones and didn't get on the computer at all. We just hung around all weekend. Here's a picture of Zach from Sunday when we went messing around at the mall. He's sporting a KU hat. Rock Chalk! Jayhawk! K-U!!! What does that mean? Go to this site! http://www.rockchalk.com/john/john/rock.html

For The Love of Pete!!!

Here's Pete, Linda and Bo Bo Tilley riding on Victory Road in Reno County on Sunday afternoon. It was a great time. Thanks for the great lunch. Oh, and I loved the entertainment at our meal. Linda took a nose-dive in the kitchen! Kristi and Pete gave it a 9.6, but I gave it a 9.9!

Love at 35 MPH

Here's a picture that I shot this afternoon. We were at Kristi's Dad and Linda's house. They have a couple 4-Wheelers and we went on a friendly ride in rural Reno and Sedgwick counties in Kansas. Here's Kristi and me as I am driving. Don't do this at home!

She's Lost Her Marbles!

I know a few people that have lost their marbles. On that subject, if anyone is wanting to critique a parent, here's one for you.

Pop star Britney Spears sported a newly shaved head when she dropped by a Los Angeles tattoo parlour and quickly drew a crowd. The Friday evening visit to the “Body and Soul” tattoo shop in the Sherman Oaks district of Los Angeles came on the same day as People magazine and other entertainment media reported that Spears, 25, had recently entered a rehabilitation center in Antigua and checked out a day later. Spears representatives could not be reached for comment on the rehabilitation reports, but the Access Hollywood entertainment news outlet cited a spokesperson denying them and saying she was not in rehab.

Los Angeles television station KABC showed video of Spears entering the parlour with a small tattoo visible on the back of her neck and her head completely shaved. Tattoo artist Max Gott told the station Spears got a “dainty” new tattoo. “She got some cute little lips on her wrist - red lips, a little pink,” he said. Outside, police controlled a large crowd of onlookers and cleared the way for her to leave. Spears reached pop stardom with hits such as “Oops!... I Did it Again,” and developed a reputation for a reckless spontaneity, including her two-day marriage to a childhood friend. A mother of two young sons, Spears has acknowledged that her image had taken a beating in recent months. She has become a regular fixture on the circuit of big-city US nightclubs since her split in November from husband and former backup dancer Kevin Federline. Spears and celebrity Paris Hilton recently made the cover of Newsweek magazine with a story headlined The Girls Gone Wild Effect and a poll of readers who said celebrities like them were having too much influence on young girls. In January, Spears posted a message on her website acknowledging the negative publicity while writing, “I look forward to coming back this year bigger and better than ever and to reaching out to my fans on a more personal level.”

Wow! I hope that she gets her stuff together!

What In The World Has Happened???

They start 9-0 and they win at Syracuse and at LSU. What a start to the season! The next thing you know, they go to a tournament in Vegas and lose two games and the slide begins.

The Shockers lost a heart breaker again on Saturday at home. They got beat 60-58 on a last second shot to Appalachian State at Koch Arena. They are now 17-11. There is NO way that they will make the NCAA Tournament this year. The only way is if they win the Missouri Valley Tournament, so that means that they won't make the "Big Dance." They will be lucky to even make the NIT. Pretty frustrating. I hope that they can get it together very quickly and prove that they have what it takes.
