The longtime KAKE meteorologist passed away on Tuesday after a long bout with illness. Jim's funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. Jim is survived by his wife, Marilan, a son and daughter and six grandchildren. Jim was 77. This funeral is going to be on a Cable channel here in Wichita and also on the web. Jim was a nice guy. When I worked at KKRD, we used to do the "Blarney Breakfast" for St. Patrick's Day at a local restaurant. We did it with KAKE T.V. Jim was always there at the event, since he came from Irish heritage. He was always nice to work with. R.I.P. Jim.
